A new study out this week by SHIFT, the anti-stigma people, looks at how mental illness is portrayed on British TV. Their researchers studied drama programmes on terrestrial stations for three months between the hours of 4pm and 11pm. In this time there were 74 episodes from 34 different programmes containing mental illness related storylines and 434 references to mental health.
