The Sahayak project specialises in providing culturally sensitive and specific services to members of Asian communities with mental health disorders across Kent and Bexley. The Sahayak has a history of helping Black and Minority Ethnic Communities, and became part of Rethink in 1986.
The helpline for Asian communities provides a listening ear support service and, if requested, information about local services. The helpline is staffed by fully trained volunteers from local Asian communities, who are aware of issues of cultural and religious sensitivity, as well as language differences.
